The 18th Annual General Meeting of WTIA has been successfully held on Wednesday, 23 June 2021, we are thankful for all the warm support from our Executive Committee and WTIA members, the AGM would not be flourishing without their precious presence.
WTIA Chairman Mr Roy Law gave a brief introduction of the previous events and projects done in the past year. Various workshops and seminars related to 5G and IoT have been conducted to enhance public awareness of the latest communication technology. Meanwhile, WTIA had organised different types of award competition, such as #AsiaSmartAppsAwards and #ICTStartupAward, which aims to discover and recognise the outstanding achievement of the ICT visionary. Moreover, WTIA continuously acted as a connector between the stakeholders in the ICT industry and the government, dedicated to voice out and raise concern on issues such as Anti-epidemic Fund for ICT Industry and Real-name Registration Programme for SIM Cards on behalf of the ICT industry. In addition to that, WTIA proactively helps to link up WTIA members with different communities through various channels and bring them together for a potential business opportunity.
The unprecedented situation of Covid-19 brought many changes to the industry. Chairman Roy believed cooperation is the key to getting us through a difficult situation. Together with the supportive vibe from our WTIA members, we are heading toward a brand new chapter in the post-Covid era.
